ok so i am committed to end this nasty habit finally, i have tried stopping before but have not been able to go through with it.

i have decided to use the patch this time and so far it is seeming easier without the shakes and the angry feeling i tend to get without the cigarette. i have previously quit doing crystal meth, but quitting cigarettes seems to be much more dificult.

last cigarette march 9, 2007 at 5 p.m. mountain time

WOOOOOO  HOOOOOOOOO!!!  18 hrs.  You're getting past the really hard part.  Congrats.  Keep it up.  It will get easier.  Have you heard of using candy also when you get a craving?  I have also used this method which seems to help quite a bit.  I haven't smoked or chewed for a few months now myself and I know what it's like to go through tobacco withdrawls!  The good part is they don't last long.  Stay in touch and let us know how it's going.

Right on..  probably better for you than candy Grin
When you get jittery... gum is great..  you can chew a million miles an hour.

18 hours, that is outstanding. I hope you find that same strength that helped you quit meth and use it to knock cigarettes also. I am with ya.
God knows I have tried this in the past many many times. My last attempt was January 6 of 2007. I only lasted 3 hours, actually more like 10 if you count sleeping.....
I am now on a mission to let God have control over this as He was the one who took my compulsion and desire to drink alcohol several years ago. I wish you all the luck and strength to go through with it.
Cigarettes are listed as the most addictive drug of all, over any others. Damn them cigarette companies......
Congrats, and keep us informed, we are with ya

The chantix is finally working, my urge for a smoke is gone. I've smoked 2 cigarettes so far today and that is great for me considering by now I normally would've had 8 or more!  I really don't feel like I need them anymore.  I've had a lot of prayers from family and friends and I'm sure that has helped greatly.  Smiley
